Primary funding
This stems from the support of the Secretary of State for Combating Poverty (initially Maggie De Block and then, since September 2014, Elke Sleurs), via a subsidy from the National Lottery, which allowed the experiment to go ahead.

The Minister for Urban Policy for Large Cities at the time of the project’s launch, Mr Jean-Pascal Labille, took on some of the communication costs when the experiment was launched.

Furthermore, each of the institutions backing the experiment has called for other types of subsidies (regional or local) and/or resorted to own funds.

Lastly, since Autumn 2015 the Fondation Roi Baudouin has held a “cycle of intervisions” for all workers on the ground involved in HF practices in Belgium (more broadly than the HFB experiment).
